Shark Shirt is about finding the little things that are significant in everyday life. While working at the Aquarium of the Bay, I frequently found myself fascinated and inspired, by the marine life, the patrons, by my coworkers, or by something I learned that day. It seems much more important now, to recognize these moments of significance occurred in my regular routine of work. Not that working at the aquarium was perfect, but here are some examples of meaningful "little things" that occurred during my tenure at the aquarium:

Learning the Otters by name and learning to tell them apart.

Picking up a sea star to let little kids touch them and their explosion of joy and disgust and fascination.

Watching the female bat ray's "ready to mate" behavior.

Taking guests behind the scenes to have them hold shark eggs and see the real size of our giant sea bass (curved glass makes them look smaller) and me definitely not touching the moon jellies to see that their stings are minor if at all.

Being pretty sure that the baby bat rays can tell who the staff are and poking their wide little heads out to say hi.
